I've been installing awning sensors for years.  It has saved my clients thousands of dollars in bent frames and damage to the house.  Awning sensors will automatically retract an awning on a motorized retractable awning when it senses the wind is of a certain strength.  Many times people will forget that an awning is extended and when the wind picks up, if they don't have a sensor, it could rip an awning clean off a house!  I highly recommend them for all of my clients.
